Game I Thought Had the Best Graphics or Art Style

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 23 of the video game challenge! Today’s challenge is ‘game you thought had the best graphics or art style’.

This one is a bit hard because I enjoy many different styles of art. I mean, I could write about what game I thought had the most beautiful art style because it was the most realistic, or because it was all in watercolor style, or because it was quirky and fun.

Today, I think I will go with Yoshi’s Woolly World developed by Good-Feel and published by Nintendo for the Wii U. I know there is Kirby’s Epic Yarn as well but I enjoyed the filled in style of Yoshi’s Woolly World a bit more.

This game is bright, lively and fun! It is a nice change of pace when I don’t want to play a game that is full of super dark death and destruction. Let’s also not forget all of the costumes from the amiibo!

In Yoshi’s Woolly World, the Magikoopa, Kamek has turned nearly every yarn Yoshi into bundles of yarn for Baby Bowser. This causes the yarn Yoshi to be scattered across different worlds and it’s up to two Yoshi’s that weren’t unraveled to save the rest of the yarn Yoshi!

I like the style of this one slightly more than Kirby’s Epic Yarn because It has more depth in terms of color. In Kirby’s Epic Yarn, everything is a yarn outline, whereas in Yoshi’s Woolly World they are filled in. Yoshi’s Woolly World is brighter as well. Kirby’s Epic Yarn is mostly pastel colors which is great and it’s really pretty but I prefer the brightness a bit more.

Have you played Yoshi’s Woolly World? Which amiibo costume is your favorite?

Picture of a Game Setting I Wish I Lived In

Hi, hi! Welcome today 19 of the video game challenge! Today’s challenge is ‘Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in’.

I ruled out a lot of games immediately. I wouldn’t want to live in a wasteland or a destroyed world for sure but I also really wouldn’t want to live in a world without technology at least similar to what we have today. I quickly settled on the Pokemon world.

There are nice small towns like New Bark Town as well as bigger cities such as Lumiose City with shopping malls and attractions. Plus, I could raise an Eevee and Eeveeloution army!!

What video game world would you want to live in?

A Game I’ve Played More Than 5 Times

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 13 of the video game challenge! Today’s challenge is to write about a game I’ve played more than 5 times!

So, I’ve played Chrono Trigger more than 5 times for sure, but I won’t write about that one today. Today I will write about Harvest Moon 64.

I absolutely love this game. I thought I wouldn’t enjoy a farming simulator  but I actually found it to be relaxing. I also love that there are a decent variety of girls to choose from that the character can date and marry.

To be able to marry the girl of your choice you have to spend plenty of time with her and bring her the items she enjoys the most. After she has reached the pink heart level, you can use the blue feather to propose, but only if you’ve had house expansions built. After a while your wife will also have a child.

You can raise livestock, sheep and chickens and sell the products they produce. There are contests that you can work hard to win such as horse racing, dog racing, produce contests, etc.

There are festivals as well which are always fun. During one festival, if you’ve built up your alcohol tolerance by drinking at the bar or getting wine from the winery’s barrel in the cellar, you can drink with characters until they’ve had enough and leave.

The personalities of the girls you can woo are interesting too. My favorite Harvest Moon 64 girl is Popuri, but the reason that I’ve played it more than 5 times is because I like seeing the different events between the different girls.

So if you like simple farming sims or even dating sims (I mean super simple dating sim) then I think you should check it out!

A Game Everyone Should Play

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 12 of the video game challenge! Today’s challenge is a game everyone should play.

There are so many games out there and there are constant fights over which genre is better, which platform is better and so on. But there are also games that most people know about and are willing to play together regardless. I think one of those games is Mario Kart.

Mario Kart is a game that can seriously be fun for all ages. I play it with my 3 year old and I play it with my friends and I’ve been playing Mario Kart since it came out for the SNES. I feel that each Mario Kart game has it’s own individual appeal and uniqueness. I, for one, am impressed with all of the characters that they put into Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, even if some were DLC (I bought all of the Mario Kart 8 DLC xD).

Sadly, the Squid Sisters from Splatoon are not in Mario Kart 8 but I would pay if they were put out as DLC! Source

I’ll be honest, I completely suck at Mario Kart, especially trying to use the Wii and Wii U tilt modes.

However, I do find it extremely fun every time I play it and no matter who I play it with. My favorite part of Mario Kart, though, is not the actual racing, it’s the battle games!

There really isn’t a whole lot to say about Mario Kart other than it’s exciting, fun, and it’s a great game to play at any age with anyone of any age!

The Kart choices in Mario Kart 8 are super fun too! Source

Best Gameplay

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 10 of the video game challenge! Today’s challenge is best gameplay.

**This post may contain affiliate links. You can find the disclosure policy here.**

This one gets tough because there are so many different styles of gameplay out there. There are RPGs, Fighting, Simulators, RTS, Sports, FPS, MMORPGs, TPS, platformers and many more. I play a lot of RPGs, rhythm, simulators and platformers myself, but one game that I think has an amazing style of gameplay is Bayonetta. Bayonetta is classified as a third-person action game and was developed by PlatinumGames and published by Sega on the Playstation 3 and XBox 360 and by Nintendo for the WiiU.

I enjoy many things about this game but the gameplay is amazing to me. I love being able to jump right into the action and hit enemy after enemy after playing turn based games most of my life.

The fun thing about the gameplay of Bayonetta is that you have so many different ways of attacking. The gameplay is very similar to Devil May Cry if you’ve ever played it. You can kick, shoot with your hands or boots, use weapons dropped by enemies, summon torture methods and demons with her hair, and even use ‘Witch Time’ to slow down time and dodge attacks.

I love that when there are no enemies to battle, movements are still swift and the environment is very interactive. You can attack and break almost everything.

Aside from the gameplay itself, Bayonetta is a very interesting character. She’s sexy, sassy and completely badass. She was also even won the vote and was added into Super Smash Bros. WiiU and 3DS.

If you get a chance to play this game, I highly recommend it. Bayonetta 1 came out originally on the PS3 and the XBox 360, Bayonetta 2 was only released on WiiU but it comes bundled with Bayonetta 1.

Character I Would Most Like To Be Like

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 5 of the Video Game challenge posts!
Today’s challenge is ‘What character are you most like (or wish you were)? Honestly, I cannot think of a single video game character that I am most like (I can name plenty of anime characters though!), so I decided to opt for which character I would most like to be like.

This is going to sound super silly, but in all honesty, I think the character I would most want to be like is Popuri from Harvest Moon 64.

Harvest Moon 64 is a farming simulation game developed by Victor Interactive Software and published by Natsume.

This is another game I grew up on and could play over and over again. I love the simplicity of it yet the challenges it brings forth . In Harvest Moon 64 you play a male protagonist who moves to a small village to take over his late grandfather’s farm. You build relationships with the people and make friends, build and run your farm by raising crops and animals, expand your home and you can win over one of the 5 girls, Ellie, Maria, Ann, Karen or Popuri, marry her and have a child.

I have two favorite girls in this game, Karen and Popuri, however as much as I like Karen, if I had to pick a character that I wanted to be more, it would be Popuri. She is much more soft spoken, loving, has a great relationship with her parents, is a bit less tsundere, and reminds me a lot of my favorite character, Bernadette, from The Big Bang Theory.

There are many other things I love about Popuri that would make me want to be more like her as well such as, her pink hair, her elegance, her dress, and her love of nature. And most importantly, her pouty face!

What I would enjoy the most is just the simple, quiet life, not being distracted by so many other things and being able to enjoy a peaceful environment.

It’s an older game but it’s worth the play if you enjoy a simple farming simulation game. I actually find it quite relaxing.

Which character are you most like? Or would most want to be like? And if you’ve played Harvest Moon 64 before, who is your ideal girl? Let me know in the comments right here or on my facebook page which you can find by clicking the icon below!

Video Kid

That’s all you want to do
Everyday
Wake up
Get up
Sit down
Play a game
Drown yourself
In a world
Not your own
Immerse yourself
Save the king’s throne

You’re a video kidvideo_kid_by_ichinosekotomi-d25od6g
They may laugh
And call you names
But that’s okay
You’ve saved the day
You’re the hero

In another place
You’re a video kid
Of another race

Sometimes you’re human
Sometimes you’re not
Sometimes you’re saving
Sometimes you’re racing
Sometimes you’re building

Video kid
Don’t forget
To smile
You’ve saved your game
Spent another day
Being who you are
And that’s okay
Because you are a
Video kid
